Kaitlyn Waynen, Bridgeport Senior, guard Stats: The standout senior racked up 15 points, six steals, five assists and five rebounds a game while leading the Sissies to the regional tournament. Coach's comments: Kaitlyn is one of the best players I have ever coached.
Offensive Player of the Year Shannon Demmitt, Bridgeport Senior, guard
Stats: The three-year letterman put up 11 points, five assists, five steals and two rebounds a game. Coach's comments: Shannon is a very talented shooter and makes some good, tough passes inside to the post.
Defensive Player of the Year Morgan Rhine, Decatur Senior, guard/forward
Stats: The senior move-in from Alvord averaged 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals a game and consistently held the opponents best player to single-digit scoring Coach's comments: We put Morgan on the best offensive player every game. She gave us a big boost this year.
Newcomer of the Year Jessica Drake, Boyd Sophomore, guard
Stats: The standout shooter averaged 8.6 points, 2.5 assists and 2.2 steals a game and made 45 three-pointers. Coach's comments: Jessica turned out to be a big surprise for us. She was the outside game we did not think we had. It would be hard to find a better newcomer in this county.
6th Man of the Year Bailey Jones, Bridgeport Senior, guard
Stats: The defensive standout averaged four steals, four rebounds, two assists and two points a game. Coach comments: Bailey was the best defender on our team. When we needed to stop someone, she was always the one we went to.
Candace Clayton, Decatur Senior, point guard
Stats: Candace was the leading scorer for Decatur with 13.7 points and 3.8 assists a game Coach's comments: Candace consistently led us in scoring all year.
Allie Staub, Slidell Sophomore, point guard
Stats: The super sophomore averaged 13.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.2 steals in district play. Coach's comments: Expectations are hard to live up to, especially if your expecting a sophomore to become a vocal leader. Allie did a really good job under some very tough circumstances early in the year.
Kelsey Hayes, Decatur Senior, post
Stats: The two-year starter averaged 7.6 points and 7.1 rebounds a game. Noteworthy: Kelsey was an inside force for the Lady Eagles in their long playoff run.
Cassie Partridge, Decatur Senior, post
Stats: The inside enforcer for DHS averaged 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 points a game. Noteworthy: Cassie provided all the muscle while helping lead the Lady Eagles to the regional quarterfinals two years in a row.
Jessie Pittman, Boyd Senior, post
Stats: The four-year letterman averaged 15.3 points and 8.6 blocks a game. Coach's comments: Jessie was more to us than just a very good player. She was a weapon and we are really gonna miss her.
Jordan Ward, Alvord Freshman, point guard
Stats: The ninth-grade standout, who was second in voting for Newcomer of the Year, averaged 6.6 points, 3.9 steals and 3.8 assists this year. Coach's comments: She made second-team all-district this season.
Emily Basting, Boyd Senior, point guard
Stats: The speedster tallied 7.7 points, 3.7 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.1 rebounds a game. Coach's comments: Emily was a very important link to our playoff run. She will be hard to replace next fall.
Malori Moss, Chico Freshman, forward
Stats: The ninth grader put up 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 points and 1.5 steals a game. Coach's comments: Malori is a tough, hard-nosed defender that I put on the other team's best player. She is a relentless rebounder and a player with all-around good skills.
Marisa Grooms, Bridgeport Senior, guard
Stats: Marissa was not slowed down this year as she chalked up 10 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists a game. Coach's comments: Marissa is a very gifted athlete and is tough. She played the whole season with an ACL injury.
Haley Meekins, Bridgeport Sophomore, post
Stats: The inside strength of the team put up nine points, seven rebounds and two steals a game and scored a career-high 24 points at the regional tournament. Coach's comments: Haley is the most physical player on our team and always works hard. She could be considered the unsung hero of the team.
Holly Harris, Alvord Senior, post
Stats: The inside-the-paint leader posted 8.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.5 assists a game. Coach's comments: Holly was named first-team all-district this year.
Sarah Davis, Slidell Freshman, guard
Stats: The standout freshman tallied 10.1 points and 3.7 assists a game and shot 82.4 percent from the free-throw line. Coach's comments: Down the stretch in big games, she was money from the FT line. It is not often that you want a freshman with the ball in her hands in crunch time, but Sarah became that girl.
Katy Stephens, Slidell Freshman, post
Stats: The ninth-grader shot 79 percent from the free-throw line and led the Lady Greyhounds and was the most accurate from three-point range where she shot 42.7 percent. Coach's comments: Katy started out pretty timid, but by the time the year ended she had grown into our go to post girl.
