That didn't happen and five errors had a little to do with it. The Bulls allowed a district-high 14 hits and had several miscues along the way in a 12-6 home loss.
Bridgeport was playing from behind all night as the Hawks scored eight times in the first inning and never looked back. They added one more run in the third inning to take a 9-0 lead before things got a little interesting.
The Bulls scored three runs in the fourth and fifth innings to make it an 11-6 contest. Chase Pemberton, Cody Henson and Ricky Martinez each finished with two hits each. Pemberton had the biggest hit as he knocked in the first two runs with an RBI single in the fourth frame.
Pemberton also took the loss on the mound after leaving in the first inning. Kyle Parker finished the game and struck out five batters and allowed nine hits.
Bridgeport played more like coach John Ward expected Monday in a make-up game against Burkburnett. The locals played error-free and scattered 14 hits on their way to a 9-2 victory.
The Bulls scored four runs in the second inning and three in the third to build a 7-1 lead. The entire batting order helped score the runs as eight batters had at least one hit.
Austin Blevins had the best day as he went four for four with two RBIs. Diego Hernandez, Henson and Parker had two hits each, while Blake Waldrep, Ricky Martinez. Dustin Krebs and Pemberton had one hit. Krebs' only hit was the longest of the day as he ripped a home run over the left field wall.
Waldrep got the win as he pitched a complete game and allowed two runs on four hits and seven strikeouts.
