Offensive Player of the Year Austin Blevins, Bridgeport
Junior, right field Stats: The junior led the Bulls and all of Wise County in hitting, batting .546 with 15 RBIs. Coach said: Austin is the best two-strike hitter I have seen in my 17 years of coaching.
Newcomer of the Year Jared Cate, Boyd
Freshman, shortstop Stats: The ninth-grader batted .444 this season with four doubles, three triples, 12 stolen bases and a .517 slugging percentage. Coach said: Jared is one of the top players in this area, and he is just a freshman. He can play any position on the field. He is a young talent with a very bright future ahead of him.
Pitcher of the Year Jake Connally, Decatur
Senior, pitcher Stats: The staff ace carried a 3.23 ERA and chalked up most of the wins in district play to lead the Eagles to the title. Coach said: Jake came up big during our district season when Justin Tompkins went down with an injury. He essentially led us to a district championship on the mound with some fantastic performances.
Defensive Player of the Year Andrew Gage, Decatur
Senior, third base Stats: Andrew had the Eagles' third best fielding percentage at a high-profile position while also hitting .343 for the year with 27 RBIs, seven doubles, one triple and two home runs. Coach said: Andrew played outstanding defense for us all year long. He has been one of our most consistent defensive players this season.

Colton Parker, Decatur Freshman, outfield Stats: The youngest player on the team hit .337 with 19 RBIs, five doubles and three home runs. Coach said: Colton did not start the season on varsity, but when he received the chance, he took advantage of it with a great performance. He finished as one of our leading hitters, which was a huge bonus for us considering he is a freshman. I look forward to seeing everything he accomplishes in the coming years.
Justin Tompkins, Decatur Senior, pitcher/second base Stats: The top hitter on the team batted .485 for the season with 12 RBIs, five doubles and three home runs. Coach said: You can't say enough about what Justin brings to, and means to, our baseball team. He is the kind of student/athlete that all coaches wish to coach. Justin has had more adversity thrown at him in his high school career than any athlete I have seen, and he continues to persevere and succeed.
Francisco Perez, Decatur Junior, first base Stats: The junior hit .330 with 20 RBIs, four doubles and two home runs. Coach said: I am really proud of the way Francisco came on this season. He is a rock for us at first base and really hit the ball well.
Caleb Read, Paradise Junior, catcher Stats: Caleb hit .513 this year with 11 doubles, three home runs, 35 RBIs, 38 stolen bases and was second in Offensive Player of the Year voting. Coach said: Caleb is an outstanding player who is always a threat at the plate and on base.
Kaleb Read, Paradise Sophomore, pitcher/first base Stats: The talented 10th-grader posted a 2.10 ERA while hitting .423 with 32 RBIs. Coach said: Kaleb is a clutch hitter who comes up big in critical situations.
Nick Pike, Paradise Senior, pitcher/first and third bases Stats: The multi-sport standout hit .420 with a .570 on-base percentage. Coach said: Nick is a great player. His averages would be higher if teams did not pitch around him so often.
Brad Farrell, Chico Senior, catcher Stats: Brad led the Dragons in hitting and fielding. Coach said: Brad does an amazing job as the veteran leader of a small and young team.
Kyle Stearns, Boyd Junior, outfield/pitcher Stats: Kyle led the Yellowjackets in hitting with a .482 average, 27 runs scored, 13 doubles, three home runs, 19 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. Coach said: Kyle loves the game and goes the extra distance to be successful. He is one of our best players. He can pitch and play any position.
Junior Whatley, Boyd Sophomore, outfield Stats: The 10th grader hit .327 this season with 16 runs scored, seven doubles and 12 stolen bases. Coach said: Junior stepped up and filled the void in our outfield this year and did an excellent job.
Clayton Shaw, Alvord Senior, shortstop Stats: In his final season Clayton hit .414 with a .728 slugging percentage, 10 doubles, two triples and two home runs. Coach said: Clayton moved from third base last year, where he was an all-district selection, to shortstop this year, and was all-district there, too. He led us in every offensive category.
Ross Houston, Alvord Senior, catcher Stats: The senior batted .371, had a .641 slugging percentage and a .430 on-base percentage. Coach said: Ross led us in RBIs with 19.
Trevor Hahn, Alvord Senior, pitcher Stats: The pitching ace posted a 2.27 ERA with 105 strikeouts in 78 innings. Coach said: When Trevor is on top of his game, there is no better pitcher in the area that I have seen.
Blake Waldrep, Bridgeport Junior, first base Stats: Blake was second in hitting for the Bulls with an average of .490 and two home runs. He also had a fielding percentage of .990.
Diego Hernandez, Bridgeport Junior, shortstop Stats: The junior hit .316 and had a fielding percentage of .965.
Kyle Parker, Bridgeport Junior, left field Stats: Kyle hit .340 and posted a fielding percentage of .985.
Tyler Collins, Northwest Senior, center field Stats: The standout Texan led his team in hitting with an average of .446 while tacking on 26 RBIs, a county-high nine home runs and 11 stolen bases.
Bryson Curb, Northwest Senior, pitcher Stats: Bryson had the best ERA in the county as he finished at 1.97 and had 56 strikeouts.
