Wise swimmers make a splash in Plano

The Wise County Quest Aquatics went to a B/C swim meet in Plano May 8-10 where several members recorded lifetime best times against teams from all over the Metroplex.

All swimmers start in C class, and as they post faster times at meets, they qualify for more advanced meets. Several Quest swimmers have posted B times and a few have posted BB times. This weekend our first swimmer posted an A time.

Swimming for Quest Aquatics were Caycee Holson (age 8), Sam Bowker (10), Ethan Miles (10), Chloe Wallen (10), Lizey Rowden (8), Millie Rowden (6), Delanie Davis (8), and Emily August (7).

Holson won the 50-meter backstroke in the 10 and under age group with time of 37.02 seconds and logged Quest's first "A" time. She also swam 50 free personal record time of 36.55, a "B" time, and the 50 butterfly in 44.85 which also a "B"

Bowker was solid in the 50 Backstroke with a fifth place showing (B class) with time of 44.0, second place in the 50 Breaststroke (C class) and seventh in the 100 Breaststroke (B time).

Rowden placed fifth in the 8 and under 25 freestyle. She also swam 25 Backstroke and 50 freestyle

Miles dropped more than 10 seconds off his typical pace with a time of 1:32.94 in the 100 freestyle. He also went his fastest time in 50 backstroke at 51.87 seconds.

Wallen dropped five seconds to post her fastest 200 free time of 3:39.27. She also had best times in 50 Breaststroke and 100 Backstroke.

August, Davis and Millie Rowden also competed in the 8 and under age group posting many life time best times in 25 free, 25 back, 25 breast and 25 butterfly.

Quest Aquatics swims at Fit-N-Wise Monday through Saturday. The competition swim program is a newly established USA swimming team that began in January of this year. Team tryouts are the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
