Where are our values
By William Lambert | Published Thursday, September 24, 2009
This is the third letter or opinion I have written. Like the others it is an opinion, not meant to offend anyone. I have yet to get a letter printed.

Wednesday at the end of the day the news was reporting our detestible goverment wanting to tax the sweetner used to sweeten the soft drinks to make it so expensive the people would not buy them. By the way, I do not drink any soft drinks.

The goverment has already taxed the tobacco companies to keep the people from buying tobacco products. By the way, I do not use tobacco.

Thursday morning as I turned on the news I heard that there was another wreck in Dallas where a DWI driver was going the wrong way on the freeway. It sent yet another person or persons to the hospital. By the way, I do not drink mind-altering drinks either.

What kind of goverment or person or persons would support this kind of thinking where you can purchase a product, get in your automobile and get on the highway and kill some innocent family? Where are our values in this dysfunctional society?
