| Funeral for Aaron James "Jack" Ross, 70, of Sunset was to be at 10 a.m. Satuday, June 27, at Vashti Baptist Church in Bellevue with Jeremy Rogers and Buck Ross officiating. Burial was to follow at Vashti Cemetery. |
Ross died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Chico.
Born Sept. 7, 1938, in Roswell, N.M., to Aaron F. and Martha (Smart) Ross, he owned and operated JRT Trucking beginning in 1982 and Tara Farms Trucking. He was in the U.S. Army. He was a bass guitarist and played with Buck Owens, Ray Price and Wanda Jackson. He was a motorcyclist and a member of Vashti Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Ross, of Sunset; three sons, Wendle Vernon of New Mexico, Dempsey Ross and wife, Elizabeth, of Sunset and Buck Ross and wife, Annie, of Bowie; two daughters, Gina Hughes and husband, Joe, of Bowie and Donna Crow of Brownsboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Ross, Skyler Ross, Megan Woods, Connor Brice, Shasta Roberts, Charles Hughes, Donnell Crow, Jonathan Crow, Jody Roberts, Savannah Clark, Trinity Ross, Daisy Crow and Daniel Hughes; nephew, Jessie Youtsey and wife, Vera, of Oklahoma; niece, Donna Jean Slaughter of Perryton; and mother-in-law, Shirley Stovall of Sunset. |
