| Memorial service for William Earl "Bill" Chance, 77, of Boyd is at 1 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home with Fred Chance and Tim Sipes officiating. |
 Chance died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in Fort Worth.
Born May 13, 1932, in Palestine to Gorman and Bernadean Rice Chance, he was a retired maintenance man for Texas Woman's University.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Chance; son, Chuck Chance; stepson, Ron Williams; and the mother of his children, Dorothy Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patsy; sons, William Earl "Billy" Chance Jr. of Tennessee Colony, Michael Thomas Chance and wife, Patricia, of Denton; daughters, Rebecca Deene Poteet of Duncanville, Kathleen Kay Sumerlin of Krum and Maxine Gay Shaw and husband, Brian, of Tulsa, Okla.; stepchildren, Greg Williams of Granbury, Ronna Wilson of Boyd and Patti Basting of Weatherford; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Fred Chance of Lewisville and Gorman Chance of Watagua.
