| Funeral for Donna Marie Barclay, 80, of Alvord is 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at First Baptist Church of Alvord with the Rev. Bill Cleveland officiating. Burial will follow at Alvord Cemetery. Family visitation was to be 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home. |
 Barclay died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, in Bowie.
Born Nov. 13, 1928, in Waynesville County, Mo., to Charles Edward and Gertrude Cora Elizabeth (Cole) Parson, she was raised by Will and Etta McMath after her mother's death in 1936. She owned Donna's Beauty Shop in Alvord.
She is survived by sons, Alan Troy Barclay of Alvord and Dale Alton Barclay of Grapevine; a daughter, Cheryl Elizabeth Franks of Grapevine; grandchildren, Waylon Barclay, Cory Franks, Culley Franks, Brandii Barclay and Samantha Barclay; great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Shelby Barclay and Clayton and Cooper Franks; a sister, Vesta Fern Parson of Alvord; a half-sister, Lois Ann Bell; a half-brother, Richard Lee Parson; and special friend, Bill Spain of Alvord. |
