| Funeral for William Henry "Billy" Troxell, 77, of Rhome was Sept. 29 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with the Rev. Jimmy Withers officiating. Burial followed at Aurora Cemetery. |
Troxell died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, in Rhome.
Born March 13, 1932, in Rhome to Ellis Clyde and Katherine (Taylor) Troxell, he served in the U. S. Army as a cook. He was a retired radio/TV teacher from Northwest. He was also a Rhome city councilman during the 1950s, city secretary during the 1960s and was mayor from 1992-1993 and 1997-1998. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rhome.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ellis Clyde Troxell Jr., and sisters, Vivian Middleton and Nelma Wylie.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Ruth Troxell of Fort Worth, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Shannon Jones, Ronnie Harvey, Tony Dickey, Ned Adcock, Raymond Dickey, Don Troxell and Randy Troxell. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Childress and Kenneth Brammer. |
