| Funeral for Vernie Mae Pruitt, 95, of Jacksboro, was to be Saturday, Nov. 7, at Live Oak Baptist Church in Jacksboro. Larry Shields and David Nash were to officiate. Burial was to follow at Graves Cemetery. |
 Pruitt died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, in Jacksboro.
Born July 27, 1914, in Jacksboro to John Randall and Mary Idella (Weir) Middlebrooks, she was a retired Green Thumb leader. She married Sherwood Epps in 1935 and Reese Pruitt in 1960.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; sons, Dalton Epps and Joe Melvin Epps; five sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by daughters Carolyn King of Krugerville, Brenda Mobley of Odessa and Neva Ellison of Jacksboro; sons Thoburne "Toby" Epps of Chico, Dan Epps of Streetman; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. |
