| Funeral for Jean Waldrop, 85, of Newark was Oct. 28 at Mount Olivet Chapel with burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. |
 Waldrop died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009.
Born Feb. 18, 1924, in Bridgeport to Columbus and Sallie Morton, she retired from Safeway after 35 years of service. She was a member of Rosen Heights Baptist Church and was active with the Good Cheer Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Waldrop, in 1956; son, John Waldrop; eight sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Stringer and husband, Larry; grandsons, Bob Harris and wife, Helena, Ted Harris and Michael Stringer and wife, Sara; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. |
