Kelly died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, in Bryan.
Born Dec. 31, 1949, in Belzoni, Miss., to Luther and Ruby Kelly, he participated in football, baseball, basketball and track in high school. He married Judy Davenport when he was 20.
He was a pastor at churches in Texas and Louisiana and was serving as pastor of Harmony Baptist Church in Caldwell at the time of his death. He hunted, fished and played golf.
He is survived by his wife; son, Luke Kelly of Chandler; daughters, Heather Lambert and husband, Brian, of Pasadena and Tara Griffis and husband, Casey, of McKinney; grandchildren, Hannah Lambert, Jacob Lambert, Kelly Lambert, Jackson Griffis, Carson Griffis and Mason Kelly; brothers, Bob Howard and wife, Debbie, of Belzoni, Harold Howard and wife, Barbara Jean of Belzoni, Danny Kelly and wife, Theresa, and Eddie Kelly, all of Aurora; sister, Barbara Marlow and husband, Don, of Bowie; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jared Davenport, Bo Wilson, Darryl Courtney, Bill Scott and Mack Cox.
