| Funeral for Curtis Edward Simms, 76, of Alvord was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at First Baptist Church in Alvord with the Rev. Bill Cleveland officiating. |
Simms died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in Decatur.
Born Feb. 14, 1933, in Denison to Walter Clyde and Grethal Bell (Curtis) Simms, he married Mary Beth Greenwood Oct. 14, 1970, in Waurika, Okla. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades and was deacon at the First Baptist Church of Alvord.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cleo and Gordy Simms; and sister, Lois.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Cheryl Barnum and husband, P.T. of Dallas; stepdaughter, Brenda Drevicky and husband, John, of Farmer's Branch; sister, Bernice Pierce of Waco; three grandsons, Calen, Stephen and David; and granddaughter, Rhiannon. |
