| Funeral for Phil Polhemus, 65, of Plano was to be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Aria Cremation Service and Funeral Home in Dallas with Father Edward Shotly officiating. |
Polhemus died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, in Plano.
Born April 19, 1944, in Vernon to Merle Phillips Polhemus Sr. and Hazel Lucile Waggoner Polhemus, he graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1962. He attended college at Southwestern University at Georgetown and North Texas State University.
He worked as a data processor and private consultant and was a member of the Methodist church. He was an Eagle Scout and held numerous leadership roles at the local and district levels for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association and was the former director for Chapter N and former assistant director for Chapter B.
He belonged to the Quarter Century Wireless Association and was also involved with the Plano Amateur Radio Klub. He volunteered with Collin County ARES and was licensed in 1963 as WN5DFH. He also hunted and fished.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Suzanne Polhemus of Plano; sons, Scott Thomas Polhemus of Blue Ridge and Trey Polhemus of Napa, Calif.; daughter, Michelle Patterson and husband, Kenny, of Carrollton; brother, John W. Polhemus and wife, Jennie, of Decatur; and a nephew.
