| Funeral for Abner Thomas "Tom" Bolin, 88, of Blue Mound was Sept. 21 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with the Rev. Jimmy Winters officiating. Burial was at Boyd Cemetery. |
Bolin died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, in Blue Mound.
Born Dec. 22, 1922, in Drop to Alfred Anderson and Ida Clara Bolin, he served in the military during World War II. He married Ray Nell Stokes Dec. 31, 1945, in Decatur. He was retired from Trinity Portland Cement as a maintenance man and traveled in his motor home with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Y. "Mo" Gilbert; sisters, Ethel Earnest, Freida Pitts and Jessie May Followill; and brothers, J.T. Bolin and Alfred Bolin Jr.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Sandra Padgett and husband, Jim, and Donna White and husband, Tommy, all of Blue Mound ,and Sharon Kay Gilbert of Eagle Mountain; son, Randy Carl Bolin of Burleson; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Palmer of Fort Worth; brother, Virgil Bolin of Newark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Randy Harris, Tommy White, John Gilbert, Tracy Harris, Travis White, Russell Mize, Mark White and Jeff Nash. |
