| Funeral for Robert D. Worley, 73, of Boyd was Sept. 25 at Aurora Baptist Church in Aurora with the Revs. Randall Worley and Mike Torres officiating. Burial was at Boyd Cemetery. |
Worley died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009.
Born July 3, 1936, in Floyd, N.M., to Willie and Lottie Capp Worley, he married Jerry Helen Fletcher Dec. 20, 1957, in Dallas. He received his doctorate from Baylor Baptist College in Waco and was a member of the Baylor Alumni Association. He and his wife served in the mission field in Spain and Bosnia for 33 years. He was the pastor at Trinity Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Truett, Ladson and Rogene Worley.
He is survived by sons, Robert Worley Jr. and wife, Maria Duarte, of Temple, Reuben Worley and wife, Jacqueline, of Plano and the Rev. Randall Worley and wife, Eli, of Crowley; daughter, Rachel Torres and husband, the Rev. Mike Torres, of Barcelona, Spain; grandchildren, Debora, Naomi, Victor, Elena, Joel, Timothy, Beth and Caleb Worley and Kristen and Sabrina Torres; great-granddaughter, Maryn Thomas; sister, Freda Smith of Fresno, Calif.; brother, A.T. Worley of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Ray Gilbert, Bill Smith, Audie Phillips, Lee Waldrop, Jerry Payne, Joe Hatley, Scotty Redmon, John Moore, Logan Moore, Wesley Moss, Mike Willbanks, David Hatley, Robert Worley Jr., Reuben Worley, Randall Worley and Mike Torres. Honorary pallbearers were Larry McBride, Warren Saulter, R.H. Moss, Bill Marcum, David Van Hatley and Buddy Hatley. |
