First Financial has increased earnings

First Financial Bankshares, Inc. of Abilene, with branches in Bridgeport, Decatur and Boyd, has reported earnings for the fourth quarter of 2007 of $12.51 million, a 6.8 percent increase compared with earnings of $11.71 million in the same quarter last year. Basic earnings per share increased 7.1 percent to $0.60, compared with $0.56 in the same period last year.

Andrea Wolf was three-years-old when she rode her first horse. She didn't ride far that day, just as far as her mom's pocket change would take her. New vehicle registrations in Wise County slipped slightly in 2007, down less than one percent from 2006 totals. Decatur's three dealerships registered 3,404 new cars and trucks to individual and business customers during the year, down only 20 units from 2006.
