Decatur High School's FFA horse evaluation team finished 16th among 47 other states competing in last week's 82nd national FFA competition in Indianapolis. During the two day competition, the team judged four conformation classes and four performance classes, gave reasons on four of those classes and did a team activity. Only 15 points separated them from the No. 10 spot.
The team is made up of seniors Jordan Johnson and Jordan Lane and juniors Shelby Argo and Tyler Lisby. The team's adviser is Jim Allsup.
The team was named a silver emblem team. Gold emblem individuals were Jordan Johnson and Tyler Lisby. Silver emblem individuals were Shelby Argo and Jordan Lane.
The team won the state title at an April competition at Texas Tech University. Before arriving at the national competition, the team stopped in Oklahoma City for the National Morgan Judging contest where they finished seventh in their division.
