Auto registrations increase in May

Auto registrations for Decatur's three new car dealerships were up slightly overall in May over the previous month.

James Wood Motors sold 128 new and 51 used vehicles. Wood sold 90 new vehicles in April, along with 104 used vehicles.

Karl Klement Chrysler registered 24 new and 15 used vehicles, compared to 20 new and 13 used in April.

Karl Klement Ford sold 18 new and 12 used vehicles in May, down slightly from the 16 new and 13 used registered in April.

Chevrolet was the most popular brand sold, with 52 trucks and 10 cars registered. GMC followed with 36 trucks sold. Hyundai equaled Chevrolet's car sales with 10. Seven Hyundai trucks were sold during May by James Wood Hyundai.

Karl Klement Dodge sold 12 trucks and five Jeeps in May, along with seven Dodge cars. Karl Klement Ford sold three Ford cars and 15 trucks.

GMAC provided most of the financing in May, with 38 loans. Other auto loans were provided by First State Banks, 27; DATCU Credit Union, 18; Ford Credit, 7; First Financial, 4; Chrysler Financial and Wells Fargo, 3; Hyundai Motor Finance, 2; and North Texas Bank, The Community Bank and First National Bank Jacksboro/Runaway Bay, 1.
