April activity added $539,375 in value, including the $150,000 remodel of S&J Pharmacy following a fire. A 4,381-square-foot new home valued at $261,675, a $14,000 garage/storage building and a $5,000 remodeling project at Dairy Queen helped boost the total.
Certificates of occupancy were issued to Decatur Music, First Texas Home Health, James Wood Hyundai, James Wood make ready building and The Fried Pie Shoppe.
In May, the city added $79,887, including $35,000 in residential remodeling and $8,457 in new commercial construction. Certificates of occupancy were issued to The Wedding Chapel and six suites at the Center Creek Professional Building.
Building activity picked up in June as $1,252,231 was added to the tax rolls, including a $290,160 new home, $35,000 in remodeling at Braum's Ice Cream Store, a $160,000 Wal-Mart bathroom remodel and $139,901 for the new Fire and Ice water and ice facility. A $43,000 inground pool added to the total.
