BOOK SIGNING - Dr. Tom Shotwell, former mayor of Runaway Bay, is sponsoring a book signing 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at The Club at Runaway Bay. FOOD HANDLER'S PROGRAM - The Wise County Extension office is offering a Texas Department of State Health Services accredited food handlers program from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Extension office, 206 S. PHARMACY BUILDING TO REOPEN - Medical Center Pharmacy will celebrate the reopening of their building at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the S & J Medical Center Pharmacy 1101 Eagle Drive, Suite C in Decatur. The building was heavily damaged in a fire Feb. 26.
WELL REGISTRATION - Wednesday, July 1, is the deadline for registering existing water wells with the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District. Exemptions include wells used exclusively for domestic use, watering livestock or poultry or agricultural irrigation. Wells not capable of producing more than 25 gallons per minute, or two or more wells tied into a system not able to produce more than 30 gallons a minute are also exempt. All groundwater wells drilled on or after Jan. 1, 2009, must be registered with the district, regardless of whether the well qualifies for an exemption.
