COP ARRESTED - Saginaw police officer and Decatur resident Dan Jordan, 36, was arrested Aug. 4 and charged with assaulting his girlfriend during a July 30 incident in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. He was released the following day on $5,000 bond.
WOMAN INJURED - A Boyd woman was seriously injured when her bicycle collided with a passenger car driven by Rikki Pate south of Boyd Friday afternoon. Rachelle Presher, 18, was transported by air ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries. She is in stable condition. Pate, 28, of Boyd was southbound on County Road 4698 and was taking a blind corner when she came upon Presher. Presher was southbound and traveling on the northbound shoulder. Trooper Sam Hellinger said high grass on the shoulder hindered Pate's view of the shoulder. Hellinger said that Pate and Presher both swerved toward the southbound side of the road and collided. Presher wasn't wearing a helmet.
BOYD ISD - The Boyd School Board Monday night approved the updated version of the 2009-2010 student code of conduct for the district. There were few changes.
