HEALTH FAIR - The Wise Regional Health System Harvest Health Fair was to be 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in front of the hospital. The free event was to include health screenings, blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks, PSA testing (for men over 50), blood sugar checks, a kids fun area, face painting, cake walk and the Corporate Wellness Challenge where teams compete in an obstacle course. An infant CPR demonstration will be at 8:30, 9:30 and 10 a.m. at the fair.
PARADISE FESTIVAL - The Paradise Historical Society was to host its fourth annual Main Street Festival 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. The free event was to include live entertainment, food, vendor booths, an antique farm machinery display, quilt display, live auction at 1 p.m., children's games, contests and face-painting. This year also includes a dedication ceremony for the Veteran's Memorial Park. The ceremony was to start at 10:30 a.m.
