| Cynthia Ruth Bounds and Jerome Barry Garfunkel, both of Woodstock, N.Y., were married Sept. 9, 2009, at the lake in Central Park in Manhattan. The Rev. Don Moore with Living Word Chapel in West Hurley, N.Y., officiated the double-ring ceremony. |
The bride is the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Williams of Boyd.
The groom is the son of the late Jack and Rose Garfunkel of Queens, N.Y.
The wedding party rendezvoused at Central Park Boathouse where guests were provided boats and encouraged to row to Bow Bridge. Vows were spoken beneath the cast iron architecture of this famous bridge. Guests were then invited to idly explore the lake.
Leah Czechowicz was matron of honor, and Art Garfunkel was best man. The Rev. Moore was also the soloist.
A reception hosted by the groom was at The Park Room at Helmsley Park Lane Hotel overlooking Central Park.
The bride attended Boyd High School and Tarrant County College.
The groom received a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from Queens College, CUNY, New York in 1969. He received an honorary doctorate in technology in 1992 from De Montfort University in Leicester, United Kingdom, and in 2005, he received a master of science in computers in education at Long Island University in Brookville, N.Y.
He is a specialist in learning systems design and technology and is recognized as a leading authority in the field of international computer standards and programming languages. He is retired.
The couple plan a spring trip to the French Riviera, and they live in Woodstock.
