Laura Michelle Sprunger and Garry Smith Smitty Grubbs II
Marriage vows to be exchanged Nov. 14, 2009

Laura Michelle Sprunger of Denton, daughter of Mark David and Donna K. Sprunger of Allen, will marry Garry Smith "Smitty" Grubbs II of Denton, son of Garry Smith and Beverly Tackett Grubbs of Boyd, Nov. 14, 2009, at Abundant Life Worship Center Church in Newark. James Hurst will officiate the ceremony.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Allen High School and graduated with a bachelor of science in chemistry from Texas Woman's University in 2006. She is studying for a doctorate in analytical chemistry at the University of North Texas in Denton. She does research for Dr. William E. Acree Jr. for the development of predictive models for biological and pharmaceutical applications at UNT. She is a member of Iota Sigma Pi (National Honor Society for Women in Chemistry), Alpha Chi Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and is a youth leader at Abundant Life Worship Center.
The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Boyd High School and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Texas A&M University. He is pursuing a doctorate in physical chemistry at the University of North Texas. He does research for the UNT Radiospectroscopy Group in the chemistry department under Dr. Stephen Cooke. He is a member of Alpha Chi Sigma Chemistry Fraternity, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and is a youth leader at Abundant Life Worship Center.
