WCMessenger

Danny WhiteName:

Dennis Hudson

Office sought:

Constable Pct. 1

Have you ever been charged with a crime?

No.

What is your philosophy on law enforcement?

I feel we should constantly strive to improve our working relationships with other agencies, not only within our county but throughout the state as applicable. We are all working toward the same goal; better community relations, safe environment for our families, reduction in criminal activities and keeping our integrity and community trust at its highest.

What have your life experiences taught you to prepare for the office you seek?

I feel my knowledge of the community and its citizens is an invaluable tool that not only assists me in carrying out my duties as Constable but is also an asset when assisting other law enforcement agencies. Growing up in a community and staying in that community as an adult provides an abundance of usable information to draw on. Just like Decatur Chief of Police Rex Hoskins stated about my brother, Gary Hudson's, recent retirement from their agency, "This kind of experience and knowledge cannot soon by replaced." Not only knowing the community but the ins' and outs' of its residents is a priceless tool.

We hear a lot about "change" from the presidential campaign - what kind of change would you like to see in Wise County and how can you help make that change a reality?

My overall objective as constable is to maintain and enhance the safety and security of the people of Wise County. I want to help make our county a more enjoyable place to live and work. My first priority is people. My goal is service. To carry out this charge, I fully collaborate with the community and other law enforcement agencies in an effort to reduce the effects of crime and to carefully deal with civil litigations. I am able to monitor emerging trends to develop appropriate procedures to deal with undesirable activities. It has been my pleasure to serve my community for the past 16 years. With this experience, my proven integrity, knowledge of community and people, and my sincere desire to serve, I respectfully request your vote of confidence by returning me to the office for yet another term of service to the people of Wise County.
