Why did you decide to seek this office?
I truly enjoy my job as the Assistant Wise County Attorney. Furthermore, prosecution has always been a passion of mine. I go to work everyday with that passion and a sense of humility in my heart as a servant of Wise County. Therefore, the logical and most natural step for me would be to pursue the Wise County Attorney position.
Please identify a major issue dealing with the position you are seeking and your solutions or views about that issue. Please be as specific as possible.
Presently in the Wise County Attorney's Office, we have an open door policy to serve any Wise County citizen or agency in any way legally possible. As well as our criminal duties, we conduct mental commitments, protective orders, victim services, and hot check collection. We currently have an excellent staff to do these tasks quickly and efficiently for the people in the county. Thus, I would like to make the public more aware of the resource that the Wise County Attorney's Office can be to the community.
What experience qualifies you to serve in the position you seek?
I have been the Assistant Wise County Attorney under Greg Lowery for the last three years. Since there are only two attorneys in the County Attorney's office, I have seen and done it all during this time. I feel that this hands on experience has allowed me to get to know the office and what it takes to run it successfully.
If elected, what will be your most important goal?
The priority of my job will be to search for truth and the fair administration of justice. This means that regardless of who you are in Wise County, whatever your socioeconomic class or political standing, your case will be pored over for the truth and then justice will be served out of that search, whatever that end may be. |
