Alvord standout basketball player Maddison Kinsey has not quite wrapped up her high school career just yet. The four-year varsity starter has been selected to play in three prestigious all-star games.
The Lady Bulldog was selected as one of the top players in Texas and invited to participate in the Ninth Annual Texas Roundup All-Star game this Saturday in Maypearl. The Roundup, which is considered one of the state's top events, selects the top 24 girls and boys from Classes 1A through 3A.
Players are chosen from hundreds of nominations statewide.
Recruiters from across the state participate and were advisors in the selection process.
The girls' game will begin at 3 p.m. followed by the boys at 5. Admission is $5.
Kinsey, who was selected district and Wise County MVP this year, will also compete in the Chicken Express All-Star game March 29 in Mineral Wells. Dozens of college coaches will be on hand looking for future players.
The Lady Bulldog has also been named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star Team which will play in July. However, because of a family obligation, she will not play.
