Juanita Brannon
1912-2008
Funeral for Juanita Brannon, 96, of Decatur was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at the Church of Christ in Walters, Okla. Paul "Mac" Deaver of Sherman Drive Church of Christ in Denton was to officiate. Don Crow of the Church of Christ in Walters was to assist. Burial was to follow at Temple Cemetery in Temple, Okla.
Brannon died Sunday, April 20, 2008, in Bridgeport.
Born March 3, 1912, to Aubrey and Carrie (Bundy) Fortenberry in Wise County, she was a member of the Sherman Drive Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by four husbands, Kirby E. Black, Howard Pearson, Artis Tarkington and Raymond Brannon; three sisters, Monnie Dell Pannell, Bain Fortenberry and Ruth Bently; two brothers, Sloan Fortenberry and Ross Fortenberry; and a grandson, Kent Kinder.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Knox and husband, Joe, of Decatur; a son, Jack Black and wife, Ramona, of Denton; five grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; as well as other family members.
The family requests memorials be made to any children's home.
