Cherlye 'Chery' Mooney
1946-2008
Funeral service for Cherlye "Chery" Mooney, 61, of Decatur will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at First Methodist Church in Decatur with Revs. Roy Spore and Johnny Irish officiating. Mooney died Sunday, April 6, in Dallas. Born Aug. 26, 1946, in Haysprings, Neb., to Andy and Lila Anderson, she married Dan Mooney on Jan. 14, 1969, in Ft. Benning, Ga. She was a school bus driver for Decatur ISD. She was also co-owner of Johnson Book Store in Decatur. Mooney is survived by her husband; sons, Glenn Cook and wife Kayla of Abilene, Tony Mooney and wife, Paula, of Decatur and Brian Mooney of Decatur; daughter, Billie Cochran and husband, Josh, of Decatur; grandchildren, Keenan, Brittany, Tamara and Tana Cook and Connor and Devin Mooney; brothers, Yunton Compo of Idaho, Jim Cook of Colorado, Glenn Anderson of Germany and Leon Anderson of Decatur; sisters, Lani Vaughn of Decatur, Kathy Smith and Penny Torske of Nebraska and Yvonne Keyes and Julie Baron of Arkansas.
