Funeral for Billie Jones Jr., 80, of Decatur was Thursday, May 1, at Coker-Hawkins Chapel in Decatur. Rick Ross and Josh Ross officiated. Burial was at Bennett Cemetery in Groveton.

Jones died on Monday, April 29, 2008, in Decatur.

Born Aug. 27, 1927, in Trinity County to Billie and Kattie Lester Jones, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Jones married Bobbie Jean Hall Dec. 11, 1949.

He was the secretary and treasurer of the OCAW local union in Texas City. He also served as an elder at several churches.

Jones is survived by his wife; daughters, Beverly Ross and husband, Rick of Decatur and Barbi Hutson and husband, Cecil of Mesquite; grandchildren, Jenny Bizaillion and husband David, Joshua Ross and wife, Kayci, Jonathan Ross and wife, Jennifer, Tiffany Hutson and husband, Hutt, and Tabitha Hutson; three great-grandchildren, Malaya Bizaillion, Jed Ross and Truitt Ross; and sister, Molina Parker of Texas.

The pallbearers were Ted Hemness, James Due, Joshua Ross, Jonathan Ross, Hutt Hutson and David Bizaillion.
