Funeral for Nelda Jane Johnson, 81, of Alvord was April 21 at Coker-Hawkins Chapel with Carl Livingston officiating. Burial was at Justin Cemetery.

Johnson died Friday, April 18, 2008, at her home.

Born Dec. 12, 1926, in Forney to Thomas Bryan and Connie Jordan Lester, she married Thomas Chester Johnson May 11, 1947, in Tarrant County.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Barbara Burkett, Berdyne Black and Iris Edmondson; brothers, Tom Lester Jr. and Connie Mac Lester.

She is survived by her sons, Allen Johnson and wife, Pat, of Benbrook, Paul Johnson and wife, Claudia, of Fort Worth, Phillip Johnson of Fort Worth, Bobby Johnson and wife, Angela, of Arlington, Donald Johnson and wife, Karen, of Joshua, Thomas Chester Johnson Jr. of Fort Worth and David Johnson and wife, Cate, of Trophy Club; daughters, Terry Hill and husband, Don, of Alvord, Gwendolyn Hignight of Arlington and Pamela Johnson Riley of Fort Worth; brother, Gary Lester and wife, Pauline, of Weatherford; sister, Edna Frances Attaway of Fort Worth; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Allen Johnson, David Johnson, Paul Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Donald Johnson, Phillip Johnson and Thomas Chester Johnson Jr.
