Doris Jean Jenkins

Graveside service for Doris Jean Jenkins, 69, of Bridgeport was to be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at West Bridgeport Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Sessions of the Twin Oaks Assembly of God Church was to officiate.

Jenkins died Sunday, May 11, 2008, in Bridgeport.

Born Feb. 6, 1939, in Bridgeport to Cecil and Leatha (Morton) Young, she was a retired dietitian at Park Haven.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Sparkman; a daughter, Judy Sparkman; sister, Patsy Young; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Sparkman.

She is survived by her son, Jackie Lee Sparkman of Bridgeport and Michael Sparkman and wife, Dyone, of Crafton; daughters, Cynthia Burris and husband, Eddy, of Conroe and Cassandra Austin of Springtown; brothers, Clayborn Young and wife, Pat, of Decatur, Delbert Young of Bridgeport and Jimmy Young of Bridgeport; sisters, Annie Walker of Burleson, Sara Ruth Starnes of Bridgeport, Kathy Butler of Bridgeport and Teresa Goley and husband, Mike, of Decatur; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
