Naomi Beatrice Ward

Graveside service for Naomi Beatrice Ward, 86, of Rhome was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Aurora Cemetery. Visitation was to be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Ward died Friday, May 3, 2008, in Decatur.

Born Dec. 5, 1921, in Aurora to James Garland Stroud and Mary Sonora Oates, she married G.H. Ward. She lived in Saginaw from 1940 to 1973, when she moved to Rhome.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Saginaw and Rhome. Naomi traveled with her husband throughout the United States and Europe. She visited with friends and went to antique fairs.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Ward of Rhome and Michael Ward and wife, Kare Burns, of Cambridge Shire, England; a grandson, Michael Ward of Springfield, Va.; and a niece.
