Mansefield M. Millican
1920-2008
Funeral for Mansefield "Manse" Millican, 88, of Decatur was Tuesday, May 6 at First United Methodist Church in Decatur with burial to be at Chapel Cemetery in San Saba County at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7.
Millican died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home.
Born March 14, 1920, in Chapel to Julian and Iris (Godwin) Millican, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force in England and France during World War II.
After the war, he began his career in the grocery business at Red & White Grocery Company in Chapel. He also worked at the Walker Smith Company in Brownwood and Kimbell Grocery Company in Fort Worth and throughout West Texas. He finished out his career at Minyard's Food Stores.
He golfed and ranched. He was a charter member of the Westcliff United Methodist Church in Fort Worth and St. Luke's United Methodist Church in San Angelo.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Millican; daughter, Marcy Perkins of Decatur; sons, Robert Millican and wife, Vickie, of San Antonio and Scott Millican and wife, Pam, of Arlington; step daughters, Carolyn Sheasley of Bedford and Olivia Neely of North Richland Hills; grandchildren, Josh Perkins and wife, Mary, Jamie Milliman and husband, Rit, Jacob Millican, Zachary Millican, Ryan Tharp, Lauren Millican, Hilary Millican, Bobby Tyler, Jeanie Tyler, Michael Maidens, Gina Pittman and husband, Robert; several great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
