Memorial service for Charles "Chuck" Patrick Butler, 82, of Decatur is at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, at The Father's House in Decatur.
Butler died May 15, 2008.
Born July 20, 1925, in Virginia, he was an engineer and worked at Parker Hannafin in California before he retired. He then moved to Decatur and worked in the Wal-Mart Garden Center. He was married to Lucy Decesare for 58 years. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor for six months after the initial attack.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and his wife.
He is survived by a son, Charles Jr. and wife, Myrtis; three step-granchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
