Mary Ensey Swaringen

1915-2008

Memorial and graveside services for Mary Ensey Swaringen, 92, of Decatur were Thursday and Friday at the First United Methodist Church of Decatur and in Spur.

Swaringen died May 13, 2008, in Decatur.

Born Sept. 2, 1915, in Mineral Wells to John Jackson and Leota Ensey, she was a telephone operator. She was valedictorian of her high school graduating class in Spur. She married Woody Swaringen of Spur and they moved to Decatur. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

She is survived by her children, Douglas and Linda Swaringen of Decatur, Sue and Richard Stahl of Olive Branch and Nancy and Terry Isaacs of West; a brother, Melvin Ensey of West; and grandchildren, Scott Stahl, Stacy Gray, Sally Stahl, Dr. Jennifer Swaringen, James Swaringen, Tera McConnell, Gina Kauffman and Ryan Isaacs; and 12 great-grandchildren.
