Precinct 3 Constable Kay Williams is seeking re-election as Precinct 3 constable.
Williams became constable in 2003 when Constable Bob Davidson had to step down due to illness. The next year, Williams was elected for a four-year term.
"For the last four years, I have been privileged to serve the citizens of Precinct 3 as your constable," Williams said in a press release. "I believe that I have served with integrity, honesty and compassion. I think my performance will show that I have continued to serve with the same class and diligence that Bob did."
Williams was born in Fort Worth and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. He attended Texas Wesleyan College.
Williams has been married to his wife Linda for 27 years, and the two have six children and 11 grandchildren.
He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after 40 years of service and was manager of computer systems and programming the last 15 years. He is also an Army veteran.
Williams attended the Weatherford College Police Academy and earned his TECLOSE police officer's license in 1993. He joined the Wise County Sheriff's Office as a reserve officer and in 1995 became captain of the reserves.
He cites his 14 years in law enforcement with over 1,800 hours of law enforcement training and more than 200 hours of civil training specific to the constable position as qualifications for the job. He also holds an advanced peace officers certificate.
Williams, a Republican, will be opposed in the March primary by Doug Parr.
