Decatur ISD must now find new principals for both of its elementary schools for the 2008-2009 school year.
Carson Elementary principal Lori Mabry announced this week that she will be leaving her position at the end of this school year.
Mabry is joining the staff at the Education Service Center for Region 11, based in Fort Worth.
"She's done a good job and worked hard for the students," said Decatur ISD superintendent Dr. Gary Gindt. "She did some neat things for the school."
In her new position at the service center, Mabry will serve as a language arts trainer. She will help school districts improve the performance of their students in the language arts.
Mabry is the second principal to announce a resignation this month. Todd Rogers, principal at Rann Elementary, is leaving at the end of the school year as well.
Rogers will become the principal of an elementary school in the Northwest School District, O.A Peterson, or elementary school number 13. The school is located in Fort Worth's Tehama Ridge subdivision near the inersection of U.S. 81/287 and Interstate 35.
Gindt said the district is now advertising for the two positions and will try and select the best candidates.
