"Let's Celebrate!" was the theme Saturday, April 19, in Olney for 4-Hers from across Rolling Plains District 3; which is comprised of 26 counties. Texas 4-H Celebrates it's 100th Birthday this year and the stage boasted the birthday celebration with staging set of birthday candles, corn and the tomatoes which symbolizes the first originated 4-H clubs and 4-H's earliest existence.
Wise County 4-H clothing and textile contestants competed in senior, intermediate and junior divisions in categories of: construction, buying and design entries in fabric, apparel and accessory amongst some 135 4-Hers in District 3 at the 4-H District Fashion Show.
The Fashion Show allows 4-Hers to show off their clothing and textile skills in constructing a garment, making a wise purchase as a consumer in clothing, or designing new and exciting apparel, fabric or accessories.
Senior 4-Hers receiving first places in their categories are then able to go the next level, which is state 2008 Texas 4-H Round-Up in June at Texas A&M. Wise County 4-H clothing students will be sending 3 seniors on to Texas 4-H Round-Up this summer.
