A Decatur woman sustained minor injuries Monday afternoon after she fell asleep while driving and her car rolled onto the railroad tracks that run parallel to US 81/287 south of Decatur.
Lydia Moore, 62, was northbound near FM 2264 when she fell asleep and drifted into the left lane of traffic. Moore realized she was too close to another vehicle and steered to the right when she lost control. Her car turned over four times and landed upside down on the railroad tracks, said Decatur policeman Keith Hilton.
Rescue workers took Moore by ambulance to Wise Regional Health System. They removed the car from the railroad tracks minutes later.
