Dr. Tom Long has been named to the board of directors of North Texas Bank in Decatur.
"The board of diretors is very pleased to have someone of Dr. Long's integrity and reputation join the board," said Andrew Rotter, president and COO of North Texas Bank. "Tom and his family are lifelong members of the Decatur community and clearly represent the local values that North Texas Bank stands for. In addition, it will be beneficial to have someone with Tom's background join our board given the explosive growth and related business in the medical community in Wise County."
Long is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He did his residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.
He is a general surgeon at Wise Regional Health System in Decatur. His mother, Althea Forbis of Decatur, has been honored for many years of volunteer service by the Wise Regional Auxiliary.
Dr. Long and his wife, Ruth Ann, have lived in Decatur for 30 years. They enjoy golf in their spare time and Dr. Long also enjoys welding. They have three sons, Russell and his wife Leesa Long of Austin, Steven and Liv Long of California and James Long of Decatur. They also have two grandchildren, Isabella Long, 3, and Ryan Long, 11 months, children of Russell and Leesa.
