A print created by Renitta Long of Portraits by Renitta in Decatur has been accepted into the general collection of the 116th International Exhibition of Professional Photography. Long's work is on display Jan. 6-8 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla.
The exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention of more than 8,000 professional photographers and several photographic associations.
Long's entry, "Holding On," is being shown with approximately 4,000 other photographic works in the General and Loan Collections, the most prestigious awards.
The images constitute the world's largest annual exhibit of professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof.
Holding On is a portrait of the hands of father Wesley Cannon and his newborn son, Samuel.
Professional Photographers of America members earn merits for their exhibits that can be applied toward degrees granted by the association.
