Development coming to DFW

A Florida developer has purchased 300 acres of land at Interstate 35W and U.S. 287 in North Fort Worth.

LNR Property Corp. plans to build a mixed-use development called The Presidio with more than 1 million square feet of retail, restaurants, apartments units, hotel and office space. The first retail phase of the project will be 300,000 square feet, to open in spring or summer of 2009.

The property has frontage on I-35W, North Tarrant Parkway and Harmon Road. The property has had four owners in five years.

The project is LNR's largest in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
