Building permits net almost $3 million for fall

September building permits in Decatur amounted to $1,316,445, while October permits were $1,555,045.
A $913,080 permit for a 14,000 square foot building at Governor's Ridge Retirement and Assisted Living Community helped boost the September total. Commercial remodeling permits totaled $145,000 and included restroom facilities at Dairy Queen, conference room finish-out in the McMurray Gettys building and remodeling at the Rockin E Bar & Grill.
New home permits included $10,200 for an accessory building on West Collum St. and $92,365 for a 1,421 square foot home on South Church Street by Texas Craftsman Homes.
A certificate of occupancy was issued for a townhome on Emma Call Court by Brazier Construction/Sandy Creek Properties.
Sign permits were sold for Solaris Hospice, $2,400 and Rockin E Bar & Grill, $4,200.
Seven new residential permits were sold in October, including one to Bailee Custom Homes for a 5,575 square foot home in Briar Crossing costing $490,000. Other new home permits went to C&R Properties for two duplexes valued at $60,000 on South Arthur St.; two to Spenco Properties for duplexes on South Ash St., $100,000 each; two to Spenco Properties for new homes, one at 2,763 square feet, $179,595 on William Allen Lane and one at 2,686 square feet, $174,590 on Cyndilu Lane.
A certificate of occupancy was issued for Rockin E Bar & Grill on FM 51 S.
New commercial permits were sold to C.L. Gage for a $120,000 warehouse on West Rose Ave. and to the Wise County Messenger for a $150,000 storage facility on S. State St.
