Tonight, we continued our Booing!! tradition. So, yes, it was us! We left a few treats on a few doorsteps, rang the doorbells, and ran back to the car giggling uncontrollably. The kids have a blast with this. An absolute blast.
Here’s a little poem to attach to your goodies:
You have been “Boo’d”!!!
The air is cool, the sesason fall.
Soon Halloween will come to all.
Ghosts and goblins, spooks, galore…
Tricky witches at your door.
The spooks are after things to do.
A spook, in fact, brought this “BOO” to you!!!
The excitement comes when friends like you, copy
this note and make it two.
We’ll all have smiles upon our faces.
Noone will know who has “BOO”ed
who’s places!
Just two short days to work your spell.
Keep it secret, hide it well.
Please join the fun, the season’s here.
So spread the “BOO’S” and
Halloween Cheer!
I know this is a lot of family fun for all of you!! Love your writings and ideas!!
Hey, Danielle, I’m so glad you posted the “boo” note! We’ve got our goodies ready to go, and the note was the only thing I was missing.
Hi, this is a little off topic, sorry!
We are new to the area and live outside of town. There aren’t really any neighbors. Where do we go trick-or-treating? Or, is there a church, etc., that’s doing some kind of event for Halloween? Any pointers are appreciated!
By the way, on topic, I’d never heard of this tradition before–sounds fun, though! Well, if you’ve got neighbors, I guess….
You can Boo! anyone! It doesn’t have to be a neighbor. We drove around last night, and even boo’d our parents.
I’ll work on a list for trick-or-treating. Thanks for the question!
I believe the First Baptist Church is having a Truck or Treating next Wednesday evening. I hear it is good for the kids. I think people stand at the back of cars and give candy out to the kids in the parking lot. I grew up in Decatur and we always just took off through the neighborhoods going from house to house until our bags were full. Given a lot of people in Wise County live in rural areas it was not uncommon for those families to load up in the truck, come to town, find a neighborhood that had lots of porch lights on, park and start trick or treating. I would guess the Lipsey Addition area at corner of preskitt and hwy 51 would be a good place to start. You could even park inf the First Baptist parking lot.
Just in case anyone is still checking this we usually take our group to Hitt Street in Boyd. Most of the people participate and the fire department has the big truck in the middle of the block as well with the firefighters giving out candy!
