It’s looking like all Wise County Schools are closing their doors to brace for another Arctic Day.  Another 24 hours cooped up in the house might make us all a little stir crazy, so I surveyed a few friends to see how they spent their day–some of these might help you pass the time tomorrow:

  • baked cookies
  • cooked soup/chili/stew (some sort of liquid warmth)
  • made snow ice cream:  snow, vanilla, cream and sugar (can’t wait to try this one!)
  • read a book
  • watched multiple movies-including themed movie marathons
  • Wii marathon
  • board games
  • jigsaw puzzles
  • cleaned house (???  Not a fan of this one!)
  • napped (so jealous of this one!)
  • attempted snowball fights and snowmen (even with the below zero windchill!)
  • worked from home (if it works, it works!)

Any other super fun snow day plans out there?

I’ve had some people ask me for an actual recipe for Snow Ice Cream-here’s one I pulled off of Facebook (Thanks LR!)  Happy Tasting Everyone!

  • 1 gallon snow
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk

  1. When it starts to snow, place a large, clean bowl outside to collect the flakes. When full, stir in sugar and vanilla to taste, then stir in just enough milk for the desired consistency. Serve at once
