I saw a baby with this pacifier earlier this week and thought it was pretty hilarious. My kids were never a fan of the pacifier, opting for thumbs instead. I was always a little jealous of the magic quiet a pacifier would allow, and then the magic of simply throwing them away. It’s a little harder to do that with thumbs-not that I didn’t try.

Throwing a pacifier away isn’t that easy either. You find yourself franticly looking for one at 2 am. But that’s a whole different story.
My three used pacifiers! It was sad when we threw them away! They seemed so much more grown-up! Loved your paragraph!
We just threw the pacifier away and dealing with the consequences now. I have a thumb sucker and a pacifier baby and there are good and bad with both. Seems like everything as far as raising your children have pros and cons.
We used a cloth diaper as a burp rag, and my son took to using it as his pacifier. No, we never used them as diapers…. He was nearly 3 and would still fall asleep with that hanging out of his mouth. I think a thumb or pacifier would have been much better, or at least looked better.
I had a paci until I was almost 5. I never sucked my thumb. I let my daughter have a a paci until she was almost 5 (closet paci sucker – only at home:) ), and she does not suck her thumb and she told me when she was ready to give it up. I’m sure that breaks rules and laws of some sort, but I think we are all going to turn out ok
