Sometimes the things you cannot change, end up changing you.


I love this.  I often try to calm my worrying self with thoughts of “everything happens for a reason,” or, as my mom used to say, “whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”  When life seems to be ganging up on me, those mantras are in the back of my mind, and just when I think something might kill me, I manage to pull through-and maybe even a little stronger to boot.  So the next time I’m in the midst of crisis, I think I’ll take a minute, realize my newfound strength, and look for the way it’s changing me-for the better.
