I’m so sorry to hear that! It was a very strange movie. I wish I had some wisdom to pass along, but other than reassuring her all is well in her world, I’m not sure what else to say. I’ll be thinking though!

My daughter saw this with some relatives recently and can’t stop thinking about the movie. She is having nightmares, crys about it and I can’t get her to stop thinking about it. Any suggestions let me know. She is 8 years old by the way.

I thought it was a good movie. It was not even that scary…just creepy. And yes, Tanner is entirely too sensitive…he gets that from his mommy I am sure.

That is true. I remember The Black Cauldron scaring the snot out of me, and Malificent in Sleeping Beauty isn’t exactly uncreepy. It just seems more common now, don’t you think? Those were fewer and farther between.

Definitely think that it is sad when they do this to great books….but when I was a kid I distinctly remember being terrified of The Wizard of Oz (talk about creepy…the witch and the weird Oz himself!) and also A Christmas Carol (not sure who the actors were, but the Grim Reeper Ghost of Christmas’ future was horrifying!). So, I don’t think this is anything new.

We have this movie and it has only been watched one and only one time. My older two are 8 and 11 who like to watch “scary” movies are too scared to watch this again. I too thought the previews made this movie look like it was going to be a great one.

Good to know, Danielle. We thought the previews looked pretty dark but had been wondering about the true creepiness factor on this one. Buttons for eyes?!
